We were headed out the door for a walk, and all of a sudden mom says “Oh, wait…hold up…gotta grab my camera!! There’s a turtle in the driveway!” Oh, please!! Grr…these turtles are not as cute as they used to be once they start holding up {walk} progress! So, I wait, and there she goes…snap, snappin’ away! Little {ah, actually BIG} guy was right in the middle of the driveway and headed for the flower bed once he heard her, but then, he just hung out and didn’t budge. Wonder if he was trying to be incognito…you know, like turtles do.
She could have touched him but didn’t dare because he was a snapping turtle. She would have been in a world of hurt if he had snapped her…how would she paint with a turtle dangling from her hand?!! Heehee She didn’t think this was so funny when I pointed out what could have happened! I think there have been other turtles or perhaps the same one trying to find a nesting spot for eggs because we have some new holes in the yard and dirt pilings {which means this would be a “she”}. Not my doing!! And, we actually spotted one “nesting” one day! Yep, headed out for a walk, and Poppy spotted her this time…oh, yes, there went mom for that stinkin’ camera again!
As for the beach, well, it was amazing this past weekend…the water was so clear and pretty, and there were hardly any waves. It was like a swimming pool! And, we spotted a sea turtle!! He did stick his head up twice so we knew for sure that’s what it was, but by the time mom grabbed her camera…under he went! And, he was so close!!
I love this cute turtle my mom created several months ago. She actually created it before we moved here. Pretty interesting…now we have lots of turtle visitors all the time!! This would be so cute hanging in a girl’s room, in a college dorm, or any spot where it would serve as a great reminder that we all need to focus on running our own race…at our own pace. Goodness, life can get overwhelming sometimes, and when we see others doing certain things or progressing in a way we think maybe we should be…well, it’s easy to feel frustrated and maybe as though we are not doing enough. But, I’m a firm believer that if we stay focused, listen to our heart, and have faith in our path, then, we will succeed. And, it’s important to remember that SUCCESS looks different for each person. Don’t feel as though you have to be running just like someone else…your race is all about YOU…go at the speed that is right for you! It will pay off in the long run!! Oh, please do forgive me for being late again with my blogging. I had to get a couple of shots on Tuesday, and boy, they did not feel good. I was really sore, and my sweet mom just held me and snuggled with me. She sure knows how to make things better! With all that lovin’ I was sure to be back to normal by today! Guess I better learn how to write my posts ahead of time…she encourages me to do this, but well, ah, I kinda like to be a “fly by the wag of my tail” kind of guy!! {I see artwork of my own coming with that quote!! ~ Stay tuned!!} Oh, and, now that it’s summertime, well, I should really learn to use that feature for blogging b/c I’ve got lots on my agenda. Ooh…my new duds are on their way so stay tuned for some cool pics of yours truly once they arrive. Of course, I’m gonna model them for you!!
