Nope, I have not escaped to the Cayman Islands again! However, I was just about ready to when I discovered that an awful, and I mean AWFUL, virus attacked my computer. I went on a day trip to Philly with my sweet hubby on Tuesday (Sorry…no fun shopping stories or tales of a delicious meal at one of my fav restaurants…it was a business trip for him…and, he just happened to get a sweet little southern chauffeur out of the deal! haha) so, as I was saying…I began working on some business things once we returned home and had an ad to pop up on my computer. To make a long story short, there is a new strain of a virus that was just released in early February that executes a mild attack on your computer, or if you are one of the "not so lucky ones"…a very bad attack…one of the worst kinds. I did not click on anything, and with this particular kind, you don't even have to for it to attack. And, yes, of course, I do have protection on my computer, but as the amazingly helpful guy at Dell explained…your protection cannot always resist every attack. It's just like taking the flu shot…doesn't ward against ALL strains of it.
So, hence the reason I have missed blogging for a few days. I am happy to report that my computer is nice and clean again thanks to the awesome tech support of the virus team at Dell. I cannot say enough good things about Dell's Gold Technical Business Support and their advanced line which assists with virus issues. Although these kinds of things are so frustrating, I do tend to learn something new any time I encounter such issues, and the Dell guy gave me some good tips about things. Tuesday night was rather stressful…we had tried everything we knew to do and even followed some suggestions for removal of this virus that we came across online, but seeing that it was one of the worst ones…well, I had to call in the real "ghostbusters"!!
And, for those of you viewing my blog in Internet Explorer…I am so sorry that my banner is not showing up at this time. I am consulting with Typepad to try to resolve this issue. I use Firefox and just realized that my banner was not showing up in Internet Explorer. We are trying to figure out why it will not show up as it should so I apologize for that big white space some of you are seeing. Hopefully, you will soon be seeing my banner so stay tuned!
After all the stress with my computer issues, I thought I might enjoy something bright and sunny…hope you enjoy it, too! Here's hoping the sun is shining on your little corner of the world today!
