You know what they say…it’s not the destination…it’s the JOURNEY.
I think the same can be said for the arrival of a sunset. Sometimes one of the most beautiful parts of the sunset is one of the moments leading up to it.
And, just like in our everyday life, we can get so wrapped up in anticipating the end state that we miss some amazing steps along the way.
As I was walking along the beach the other afternoon, I stopped to watch the seagulls. They just looked as though they were anticipating the sunset…marking their spot in the sand, trying to get the best view. As I approached them I noticed a drawing and upon getting closer realized it was an angel. I’ve seen all sorts of things drawn or scribbled in the sand during my walks, but this is the first time I have seen an angel, and it caused me to stop and reflect a bit.
My heart felt a little heavy that day…you know how things can build up in your mind and your heart and just cause you to feel a little overwhelmed. Well, it happens to me sometimes, and I’m guessing you may be able to relate. Seeing this angel just felt like such a sign. It just felt as though it was God’s reminder that He is always with me, and that when I least expect it, He will give me a sign…a sweet reminder.
There I was…just walking along…and, a sweet angel appeared. It made me think of hope, strength, encouragement, and beauty, and it reminded me that sometimes we don’t even have to wait for the finale…the path leading up to it can be filled with something truly amazing!
Don’t close your eyes during the ride…you might just miss the best part!! 🙂
Hugs!!
