I remember this sunset and how excited I was when I returned home and viewed the shots I captured on my computer.  I loved them!  It was as though they told a story…well, they do!

Nothing much better than watching someone enjoying their space…their retreat…

Maybe we should all take up a little fishing…there must be something about casting out to that big blue ocean.
The bait may hang on…maybe not,
and, perhaps if we pull the line back in and find the bait is still there…
well, maybe we weren’t casting just right, or maybe we weren’t ready to LET GO.

Sometimes a big one is caught!  We probably lost the bait with that one.
But, wait…we pulled in something even better than what we LET GO…
Pretty neat how that works, huh?!!
You know the saying…
“LET GO AND LET GOD”
I know…it sounds so easy
and, the art of actually doing this can feel oh, so hard
and, downright awkward at times.

Believe me, I know…
I’ve struggled with things…don’t we all
I still do…don’t you?
I am often guilty of trying to manage it on my own.
Have mercy…that’s when things get really complicated, uncomfortable, and out of sorts.

And, then, when I realize that all of my thoughts, worrying, and analyzing just don’t seem to be helping
I remember that there are other options…
ONE option that is sure to help.
So, yet again, I find myself standing at the water’s edge,
casting out my line of worry, doubt, fear, anger…whatever is clinging on…
And, this time, I bait my hook a little differently…
I really LET GO
I don’t just pretend to release control…
I give in to the tugs, the hints, the subtle and not so subtle nudges.

And, I dig into my bag of FAITH…
because you know how it goes…
we don’t always catch the big one on the first cast!
Sometimes there is a lesson to be learned, faith to be focused on, and silver linings to be noticed.

Keep casting…keep releasing the bait…focus on FAITH…
And, don’t overlook all the little ones that you pull in!
Sometimes the best surprises are the smallest!
