It’s true what they say… a picture is worth a thousand words. And, the same picture will have a different meaning for me than what it has for you. And, that is the beauty of it all. What I love most of all though is that it is worth a thousand thoughts…a thousand memories…a thousand ways to remember just how we felt at that moment. When I look at this picture above my mind is flooded with so many beautiful thoughts. And, the moment of John running off into the sunset for his run holds a meaning for me that is different than the one I capture when he is running back towards me.

Each one finds me feeling so very thankful and blessed though…they have that in common. I love sharing sunsets with him, and although he sometimes spends part of it running, I love that time of our moments, too. We don’t all have to sit still to watch the sunset…it’s pretty amazing to run or walk towards it, capturing more of its beauty with each step we take.

These are the moments where I do lots of thinking…lots of faith building…moments where I find myself saying “thank you” a thousand times. I am amazed when I meet people that live here that cannot recall the last time they walked on the beach. That just seems wrong to me in so many ways. Do they realize what they are missing out on? I want to take their hand and lead them out onto the beach during a sunset and say, “See what you’ve been missing…”

Wouldn’t this make their heart SMILE? It does mine. And, until you can get here to wiggle your toes in the sand…well, I hope it makes yours SMILE, too! 🙂
*I know it appears I should possibly rename the sunset posts since I seem to be delayed with them often (LOL), but I am working on getting back on schedule so they actually post on Sunday. I suppose I get caught up in my research (enjoying said sunset) and get a wee bit behind. 🙂 **I snapped these pics with my iPhone, and I’m kinda loving the grungy look they have…a little vintage and mysterious. 🙂
Here’s a little peek into my sketchbook…I was looking for something else and came across this sweet girl. I had forgotten about her…kinda love it when I do this. It’s like finding a little surprise, and it causes me to pause and think about what was going on in my heart when I sketched her. She’ll be coming to life soon…

Happy October ~ time to sip on some Apple Cider, bring out those snuggly blankets, and enjoy walks while the leaves fall all around you!
