We love Lebanese food and really enjoyed trying different Lebanese restaurants while living in Kuwait. I love the fact that it is really healthy, too! Lots of yummy salads, grilled meats, and other goodies! We tried a new Lebanese restaurant in Alexandria the other evening and really enjoyed it. It was soooo good! I cannot wait to go back! I loved the beautiful decor…rich Middle Eastern colors and stylish designs welcome you as you enter. Just as the website says…dining here is truly an experience! One you will not want to miss if you are a local!

This is one of the Lebanese restaurants we used to frequent in Kuwait. I do wish I had taken pictures of the inside, as it was absolutely beautiful. And, as you can tell, it also boasted a fantastic view of the water. I love how it juts out…almost as though it is its own little island.

This picture just gives you an idea of how some of Kuwait looks. I will share more pictures all along, as I think you might enjoy seeing some of the things we experienced while living there. I like this picture because it shows some of the many tall and very modern buildings you will find in Kuwait and also lets you see just how many palm trees are dotted about. The palms were beautiful, and the medians were usually filled with bright flowers during the spring and summer. You might be surprised to realize just how much attention they dedicate to making these areas attractive and eye catching.

We loved it when the weather was cooler so we could enjoy sitting outside at many of the restaurants. Many of them have beautiful areas with outdoor seating, and in the spring, fall, and early winter it is really nice to sit outside in the evenings. I especially enjoyed the restaurants on the water…beautiful views!

The above picture is of the Marina Mall. It was only a short drive from our home so we frequented it rather often. This picture does not really do it justice, as it is a large mall, and the area you are seeing here is just a few of the connecting shops. This mall is very modern and filled with lots of the same stores we have here in the U.S. There are also lots of neat cafes inside. I enjoyed meeting up with friends here for brunch or a fun lunch outing often.
Back to Zikrayet…we were soooo full by the time we left and of course, even had some treats to bring home with us. I love hummus, fattouch, tabbouleh, and the shish taouk was amazing! I was just looking at their website and realized that their spelling of these words is different than I have seen it on menus in Kuwait and other restaurants. I'll have to check this out. Interesting…guess it's kind of like the Middle Eastern dialect…everyone there seems to understand it and is able to communicate with each other. However, after being there a while I began to pick up on the differences found in the language depending on different areas from which people were from. Do you like Lebanese food? If you haven't tried it yet I suggest you do! I think you will really enjoy it!!
Hmm…now I am definitely craving this! I think I'll have to put a bug in John's ear…we must go back…and, soon!
Hope you're having a happy day and trying some new things!
