Tuesdays with Tucker…Along my Inspirational Journey

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

Woohoo!! ~ There's a little chill in the air in my corner of the world this morning! How about where you are?  Is it beginning to feel like fall for you, too?  I love this time of year!  It's amazing what a little cool breeze can do for me…makes me feel a bit rejuvenated and looking forward to all the fun that the next few months will be packed with.

I am so excited to share another special photo with you today as part of my Inspirational Journey.  If you are not sure just what I am talking about, then, hop back a few posts to read all about it.  I would love for you to join in the fun.  It's easy…just find a picture that you have and tell me why it inspires you.  It doesn't have to be anything fancy…not gonna be grading your writing or anything like that.  It's just for fun, and along this journey I hope to add a little inspiration to everyone's day with your help!  C'mon, help a Westie out!!

Back to our Inspirational feature for today…

I'd like to introduce one of my mom's sweet friends.  Her name is Gwen, and my mom met her back when the tea room was open.  Gwen would visit the tea room with her mother and daughter and they especially loved enjoying a special teatime at Mother's Day each year.  My mom sure misses getting to see those sweet ladies, but she has lots of fun keeping in touch with Gwen through emails and Facebook.

Below is the photo that Gwen has shared with us, and I just love it! Oh, what a beautiful road to take a little journey down.  Now, I would love to go for a walk down this path!  We love Gwen's message that she shared with us and hope it adds a bit of inspiration to your day!

This picture inspires me in many ways.  It was taken at Wormsloe near Savannah.  This road led to an old plantation site where some of the early settlers made their home.  I look at the moss covered oaks that line the way as such a symbol of strength.  Strength our forefathers needed to start a new path to freedom and survive a new land we now enjoy as Americans.  They paved the way for us to enjoy a better life.  We all have a certain path to chisel out, and at times we need that strength to surround us.  We may draw strength from our faith, family or friends.  They line the path to help support us on our journey through life.  Just as this picture shows puddles from a recent rain, we encounter rain along the path of life.  Those trees can also serve as shelter from the storms.  Once again, I am reminded that those trees are like our Faith.  God is our refuge as well as our strength and a shelter from the storms of life.  Just as the early settlers came to pursue a dream for a better life, we all have a path to follow.  Who knows where that path will lead, but we know we do not walk it alone.

Thank you, Gwen!  What beautiful thoughts to share with us! I love how you encourage us to see strength, faith, and God's promise through His beautiful creation.

Journeying into the unknown can often be frightening.
Taking the road less traveled often makes us doubt our decision.
Stepping out into new adventures sometimes makes us feel so alone.
But, your message reminds us that we are NOT,
And, what a beautiful reminder to start off this day!

Tucker's Thought for the Day:

"No matter where you are going, no matter how big of a hurry you are in…
be sure to grab your FAITH, and take it with you! You'll be so glad you did!"

Until next Tuesday,
