Sunset Sunday ~ Sometimes It’s Worth Reliving a Favorite Moment…or, In This Case…a Sunset

Just when you think a sunset really can’t be more beautiful there comes another day that ends with another masterpiece.

Its magnificence is so incredible, breathtaking, and is sure to go down on our gratitude list.

And, the only thing that is brighter than this setting sun is the memory of it…because I assure you it lives on.

Each time I pass these photos in my files when looking for something in particular, I stop to remember this evening, this moment, this beauty…that really did take my breath away.  It’s worth remembering.  Whether it’s a sunset, a birthday celebration, your child’s school event, or a relaxing afternoon with a friend, take time to snap a mental image of these moments so they will be there when you need them most.  That’s the beautiful thing about photos…the moment is not ever gone for good if we snapped a picture of it.  And, if we make a mental note of how we felt, words that were shared, and the happiness that was experienced…well, it really can continue to bring us JOY!

What memories do you revisit?  I’ll share a fun one with you…it just popped into my mind as I’m typing this.  When my hubby was returning from one of his deployments years ago, a friend and I always headed to the flight line the moment we heard their Apaches coming in.  Both of us could hear them from our homes even though we lived off post.  What a sound they made!  Made our hearts flutter for sure!!  I would call her, or she would call me.  The only words we needed to say were “Are you ready…you coming to get me or do you want me to pick you up?”.  We arrived at the flight line and made our way to the fence…waiting for the footsteps…the voices…letting us know we could call out to the darkness in hopes of hearing the voice of our husbands.  And, somehow I got the job of being the one to call out.  The guys always knew we would be there…you see, we didn’t like to wait for the call for us to head that way…we liked to be early birds!  Sometimes one of the guys would call out OUR names to check to see if we were there and then, tell us that our guys were heading our way.   I remember one of the guys saying, “Ann-Margaret, John’s aircraft just landed…it will be a few mins…he’ll be there soon.”  I’m sure we giggled like teenagers, and I’m very sure butterflies were flying wildly in our tummies!  Sweet memories, I tell ya!!  And, while I certainly have pics of him arriving during the day at times, I don’t have any of those nighttime arrivals…but, I’ve got lots of good mental pictures!!  Here’s a picture from one homecoming…another sweet memory!!

Back to the beach…I suppose we’ll be seeing some of these Blue Button creatures…they look like a jellyfish and do belong to the same phylum.  They were so pretty dotted along the beach last year…they look as though their tentacles are made of beads…so beautiful.  *I think this is a Blue Button…some photos show them with a brown center, and we did see those at the same time.  🙂

I have been doing some catch up with art and all sorts of other things so I’ve gotten behind with my blogging, and I have missed it so…have missed being here with YOU!  So, here’s to the sweet days of fall…a new season, a new beginning, a time to start fresh!  I’ve got lots of pink haired girls, birdies, and inspiring thoughts to share with you this season!  Grab a cuppa tea, and come hang out with me…and, sweet Tucker, of course!! Yes, he’ll be back to blogging, too!!

Hugs, sweet friends!!
