Happy Saturday, Sweet Friends!! Although it’s still looking a little dreary and overcast this morning, I’m not complaining since yesterday was filled with thunderstorms and tons of rain. I know the sun will come out before long!! Thought you might need a little something colorful to enjoy today in case you’re holding out for the sun in your corner of the world so I’m sharing a little COLOR inspiration with you. Have you ever visited the site Design Seeds? If not, well you must! It is a site that is filled with so much inspiration and beautiful color palettes. You are sure to enjoy it! I have often gotten inspiration from my own photography and like to use colors from some of my favorite pictures when I am working on new designs…maybe a picture of the sky with big, fluffy clouds on a beautiful clear day or a bright sunflower ~ that’s how I can find a perfect shade of blue or yellow! I think photographs are a great place to start when we need a little color direction. Have you ever thought about all the different shades in one photo? It’s amazing, and if you enjoy using Photoshop or some other design software you will realize just how many colors come together to create your favorite photo…start clicking around with that little color picker, and you’ll be blown away at all of the possibilities. Designers use color on a daily basis to find inspiration for new creations. If you are ever stumped about where to begin with a new project, taking time to look at paint swatches, color boards, or those favorite pictures is a sure way to get the ideas flowing!
Saturdays seem to often be a day for new projects around our homes, the garden, or the craft room so I thought it would be fun to share a color palette with you from some of my favorite photos. I’ll just randomly pick a photo from my photography collection and design a COLOR VISION board for you to enjoy. Maybe you’re looking for a cute pillow to add to that porch swing, or perhaps you’re trying to decide on the color theme you would like to use on your patio this year…there may be one color that jumps out at you from my board that helps you with these fun decisions! And, if nothing else, maybe it will inspire you to look around and notice all the beautiful colors in the hidden areas of daily life…in those tiny little corners that you hadn’t even noticed before.
I love COLOR, and it does inspire me each and every day! I often encourage customers to use a color picker when I am working with them on custom designs. As we know, monitors all seem to show color a bit differently so this is a great tool to use to ensure that a customer is happy and getting just what they are envisioning.
