Pastry Shoppes in Switzerland ~ Sweet Treats

Ah, the pastry shoppes, the cute cafes, the yummy smell of that perfect cuppa cappuccino ~ those are some of the sweet memories of my days in a cute little Swiss town. I have always loved walking around interesting villages/towns, window shopping, and taking a break for a cuppa warmth from some adorable cafe. I did just that while in Switzerland a few weeks ago.

It was chilly and windy some days, but the weather was truly gorgeous while we were there…one or two days were rainy. Some days I would take a pastry back for John, and there were a couple of times we had the opportunity to take a stroll together. One of his favorites was this yummy apple streudel with this amazing pudding sauce on the side. Believe me when I say I had to give him a very sad look that said, “Please share” so I could steal a few bites! LOL Actually, he is quite the gentleman and always offers me some of his treat!

Nothing better than sitting across from my sweet guy enjoying a cuppa cappuccino and experiencing a new place.

Most spots had someone that spoke good English, but I did have the opportunity to use a little bit of German during my outings. I was excited I remembered a few words! Yes, we used to live in Germany so if you are new to my blog, then, there’s a little “life tidbit” for you! 🙂

There was a carnival going on during the week we were in Brunnen so it was fun to see all the costumes, a parade, and hear a variety of bands playing. Usually the band was in costume, as well, and they often marched along the water so we had the perfect view of them.

We both ended up getting awful sinus infections, and John actually saw an ENT while there during the middle of the week because he was so sick. My heart went out to him as he was attending conferences and meetings and feeling so bad. We were so grateful to find out about a great ENT that was about a 5 minute walk from our hotel. He was so nice…we went to the office that morning and were able to get an appointment for John that evening. It hit me about two days later so the journey home was a wee bit less than fun. Flying with a sinus infection, severe sore throat, and hardly a voice…well, not my idea of the best way to end a trip! But, we made it, and on the following Monday I got an appointment with our doctor here so I could start getting well. The doctor told me my voice box was very irritated and to not talk…hmm…that is quite a tall order for moi! 🙂 Needless to say, John and I had to start writing notes like old-fashioned love birds…well, if you call, “Will you please take Cooper out?” a love note! LOL

Speaking of which…Cooper…he is keeping me busy and is the cutest fur baby! And, yes, he gets into much mischief, but we are so very thankful for him and all the JOY he adds to our days!
